Martha Irene Byrd, 91, of Rocky Point passed away May 1, 2023 at her residence.

Born in Cumberland County she is the daughter of the late Jake and Annie Mae Skipper Willard. She was also preceded in death by her husband Charles Byrd, Jr. a daughter, Vonciel Byrd and sons, Dewey Byrd, Charlie Byrd and Joseph Byrd.

She is survived by daughters, Mary Frances Cayton & husband Cliff, Ella Marie Byrd; sons, Ernest Byrd, Kenneth Byrd & wife Bernice and Terry Byrd; brother, John C. Willard and James Lee Willard & wife Judy; 16 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild.

Mrs. Byrd enjoyed fishing. She will be missed by all that knew and loved her.
