Mary Britt

Mary Helen Clark Britt of Fayetteville passed away Thursday, February 28th, 2013.

Born in Cumberland County, she is the daughter of the late Ellis and wife Eula Carter Clark.

She is survived by her husband, Howard of the home; daughter, Nicole McLean and husband Chad of St. Pauls ; step children, Sandra Prottengeier of Jacksonville, FL. and Gary Britt of the Philippines; a brother, Chan Clark of Fayetteville, and one sister, Betty Cantwell of Shannon, NC; three grandchildren, Brandon McMillan, Dianna Brit and Graclyn McLean; three great grandchildren, Christian Lee and Taylor Leigh Cox, and Aubrey Paige Simmons.

Helen enjoyed reading, canning vegetables and listening to music. She was a very giving and loving person. Her greatest achievement was being a loving mother and grandmother to her children and grandchildren. Christmas was her favorite holiday. She enjoyed decorating, but gained most satisfaction preparing meals on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day which was a family tradition. She was a devoted friend and had a very generous heart. She would give you the shirt off her back if she knew you needed it. Helen will be missed by all who loved and knew her.

The family will receive family and friends at Pinecrest Funeral Home, Sunday, March 3rd from 7pm-9pm.

A Homegoing celebration will be held at The Life Center in Saint Pauls, Monday, March 4th, at Noon. Services will be officiated by Pastor Michael Gist and Reverend Todd Johnson.
