Mary Burney

Mary Jessup Burney, 87, of Fayetteville passed away Friday morning, November 18, 2016 at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center.

Born in Cumberland County, she was the daughter of Jake and Pearl Jessup. She was the wife of Simon A. Burney who passed away in September of 2015. They had been married 68 years and resided in the Grays Creek community.

Mary is survived by her son, Simon Franklin Burney and wife Susie; a daughter, Cindy Burney; sisters, Mayola Bedsole and Sally Beard; six grandchildren, Angel Pridgen, Jennifer Rogers , Kimberly Wall, Ryan, David and Wesley Walters; 11 great grandchildren, Makenzie, Ellie, Maggie, Gavin, Tucker, Harrison, Callie, Miya, Landon, Alexis and Colton.
