Mary Helen "Honey" Davis, 80, died Friday, June 27, 2014 in her Fayetteville home.
Born to the late Junior and Mattie Bounds, November 8, 1933 in Raeford, NC, Mary Helen grew up in Red Springs, NC. She was a loving wife for 35 years to Albert F. Davis who preceded her in death.
Mary Helen was a mother to 8, mom to many, and touched countless lives with her presence. She was fiercely devoted to her family, taking great delight in each family success and was the strength through every difficult time.
Possessing the artful talent of always saying exactly the right thing at the right time, her advice surpassed that of "Dear Abby". She had a heart of gold and was exceptional at keeping confidences. With a voice as sweet as her nickname "Honey", she will forever be remembered for her gentle, loving spirit and heartwarming smile.
Surviving are her children, Randal Lindsay and wife Clarinca of Fayetteville, NC; Tammy Levanger and husband John of Pooler, GA; Albert C. Davis of Troy, NC; Isaac Dale Davis and wife Kimbley of Troy, NC; Audra Davis Culbreth and husband Gary of Roseboro, NC; and Thomas Gordy, Jr. and wife Denissa of Morrisville, NC; 17 grandchildren; and 8 great grandchildren.
She is also survived by her siblings, Howard Bounds of Marion, NC, Doris Hall of Red Springs, NC, and Marie Metzler of Elk Grove, CA. She will be greatly missed by Ike Davis, her loyal and protective companion.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, June 30, 2014 at Pinecrest Funeral and Cremation Services in Hope Mills, NC.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 1, 2014 in the funeral home chapel. Burial will follow at Alloway Cemetery in Red Springs, NC.
