Mary Lucas

Mary Francis Lucas, 82, of Fayetteville, died Wednesday, April 27, 2016, surrounded by her family.

Born January 28, 1934 in Phenix City, Alabama, Mary was the daughter of the late Oveal and Mary LaCaze.

She was raised by her grandmother Little Mae Graham, who, along with her parents, preceded her in death.

Mary loved sewing, reading, making jewelry, and most of all, attending her great grandchildren's ballgames.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her husband, Don Lucas; daughter, Vicki Smith and husband Don of Fayettevile; son, Michael Lucas and wife Debra of Hope Mills; brother, Bill J. Brooks of Georgia; sister, Billie Brooks of Massachusetts; grandchildren, Chad Smith and wife Susan of Hope Mills, Chris Lucas and wife Amanda of Raeford, Allison Neighbors of Raeford, and Whitney Neilsen and husband Shawn of Raeford; and great grandchildren, Tyler, Cade, Katie, Rylee, Talan, Kamryn, and Kooper.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to a charity of one's choice.

Mary was deeply loved and will be greatly missed by everyone who knew her.
