Mary Ratley

Mary Stedman Ratley, 78, of Hope Mills, passed away November 4, 2015.

She was the daughter of the late Jake and Annie Mae Willard. She is preceded in death by her late late husband, Lonnie James Stedman, and her husband of 38 years, Clyde A. Ratley; three sons, Luther Stedman, Kenneth Leon Stedman and Lonnie James Stedman, Jr., one great grandchild, Kimberly Bass; son-in-law, Luon Bass.

Mary loved to fish at the beach and going to the hilltops of the mountains. Most of all, she loved her family and they knew it with her, "tell it like it is style."

She is survived by; a daughter, Margaret Bass; sons, Leonard Stedman and Reggie Williams, all of Hope Mills; 3 sisters, Irene Willard Byrd, of Wilmington, Annie Hall and husband Albert of Lillington and Diane Grish and husband Kenny of Seattle, WA; 4 brothers, John C. Willard and wife Nancy of Durham, James Lee Willard and wife Judy and Earl Willard and wife Barbara Jean both of Fayetteville and Luther Willard of Hope Mills; a daughter-in-law, Shirley Stedman of Fayetteville; 7 granddaughters, Maryann Gibson and husband Tony of Parkton, Missy Fields and husband David of Texas, Michelle Whitfield and husband Gordon of Goldsboro, Janel Hair of Autryville, Denise Foy and husband Anthony of Hope Mills, Belinda Stedman of Fayetteville, Jamie Woody and husband James of Wade, one grandson, Danny Bass and friend Crystal of Hope Mills; 21 great grandchildren, Brad, Nick, Jennifer, Chris, Corey, Cody, Bobby, Brandon, Nathan, Anthony, Keith, Matthew, Mary Beth, Danny, Dakoda, Jesse, Johnathon, Isaac, Melissa, Bella, Kiptyn; 5 great great-grandchildren, Camryn, Annaleigh, Coreyonna, Alyssa, and Ayrianna; and many nieces and nephews.
