Mrs. Mary Lou Tolar, 84 of Fayetteville went to be with the Lord on Monday, November 15, 2010.
Mrs. Tolar was a longtime member of Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church in Gray's Creek. Mrs. Tolar was born in Richmond County to the late Ben and Mary Helen Dawson. She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Mae Hyde and brother J.W. Dawson. She was a housewife, farmer, Registrar for the Sherwood Precinct for 40 years as well as an avid Baseball fan, gardener and seamstress.
Mrs. Tolar is survived by her husband of 61 years, Albert Ernest (Buddy) Tolar of Gray's Creek; daughters, Janice Simpson and husband Jim of Hope Mills, Glyndetta Hubbard and husband Sam of Fayetteville, Annette Fox and husband Ben of Boone; son, Samuel R. Tolar and wife Terri of Myrtle Beach, SC; sister, Ruth Bush of Hamlet. She is survived by her grandchildren Samantha Armentrout and husband Dane of Alabama, Joshua Simpson of Hope Mills, Kameron Tolar of Wilmington, Katelin and Nicole Fox of Boone. She is also survived by step-granddaughters Leigh Beauchamp and husband Larry of Raleigh; Amanda Yencsko and husband Mark of Charlotte; and numerous nieces and nephews.
