Miriam Alpene DeCriscio

Miriam Alpene Bell DeCriscio, 89 of Hope Mills, passed away Saturday, August 3, 2024, in Harmony at Hope Mills.

Born December 5, 1934, in Capps, AL, Miriam is the daughter of the late Clovis and Callie Gill Bell. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Daniel Robert DeCriscio; son, Joe Sekerak; and daughters, Theresa Schrump and Vicki Stewart.

Miriam is survived by her daughter, Sonia Hawley and husband Bill; son, David DeCriscio and wife Vickey; daughter-in-law, Penny Sekerak; son-in-law, Tommy Stewart; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; and a host of other family and friends.

Miriam was a devout Christian and longtime member of Hope Mills Methodist Church. She stayed active in the community by being a member of the Hope Mills Shrinettes as well as the VFW Ladies Auxiliary. In her spare time, she could be found spending time with family, all of whom she loved dearly. She was a beautiful soul who could light up any room she entered with her infectious smile. Miriam will be greatly missed and forever cherished by everyone who knew and loved her.

The family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to the staffs of Gentiva Hospice and Harmony at Hope Mills for the amazing and heartfelt care they provided for Miriam during her stay. Words will never be enough to express how much their attentiveness and dedication means to them.
