Myrtle Barfield

Myrtle Phipps Barfield, 77, of St. Pauls, died Wednesday, January 11, 2017 in her home surrounded by family.

Born June 26, 1939 in Fayetteville, she was the daughter of the late Fenny Oscar and Magnolia Waters Phipps.

Along with her parents, Myrtle was preceded in death by her son, James Glenn Barfield and brothers, Oscar Elwood Phipps, Ernest Cecil Phipps, and Fenny Shelton Phipps.

She is survived by her husband, James C. Barfield, Jr.; daughters, Nina Watson and husband Russ of Elk Grove, CA, Camellia Barfield of Fayetteville, and Kimberly Jeffries of Hope Mills; sons, Dan Perry Barfield of Lumberton, Joel Clay Barfield and wife Molly of St. Pauls, and Anthony Lynn Barfield and partner Chris of Fayetteville; grandchildren, Tabitha Bagley, Stanley Bagley, Ryan Bagley, Tiffany Faulk, Chris Barfield, James Barfield, Brandon Edwards, Trey Cain, Jeremy Williams, and Jessica Williams; great grandchildren, Kayla Bagley, Harley Shank, Madison Bagley, Makenzie Bagley, Landon Bagley, Ryan Bagley, Danica Faulk, Emersen Faulk, Gavin Williams, Gracie Cain, and Samuel Cain, Jr.; great-great grandchildren, Skyelynn, Allison, and Abigayle; sister, Margie Phipps McKay and husband William of Raeford; and brother, Robert Phipps and wife Gwen of Rome, GA.

Myrtle will be greatly missed by everyone who knew and loved her.
