O. Burns

Rev.  O. J. Burns, 70, went to be with his Lord and the saints that have passed on before him, Saturday, October 6, 2012.



Rev. Burns was born February 9, 1942 in Robeson County to the late Rufus and Avie Locklear Burns.



Along with his parents, Rev. Burns was preceded in death by Rufus Burns Jr, Ernest Burns, Maggie Oxendine and Grant Burns.



Surviving are wife, Peggy Burns; children Karen Shakerin, Larry Burns, Kay Locklear Barnes; six brothers, Billy Burns and wife Sarah Lois, Bobby Burns and wife Brenda, Delton Burns and wife Lou, Stanford Burns and wife Sheila, Grantford Oxendine and wife Kathy, Joseph Burns;  three sisters, Betty Kilroy and husband Jack, Mary Cleveland and husband Pat, Lillian McKenzie and three grandchildren, Chelsea Barnes, Bryan Burns and Ashley Head.



Funeral services will be Tuesday, October 9, 2012 at 2  PM at the Pinecrest Funeral and Cremation Services Chapel. Visitation will be Monday, October 8, 2012, from 6-8 PM at Pinecrest Funeral and Cremation Services.



In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to the family or your favorite charity.
