Randy Fowler, age 72, of Hope Mills, passed peacefully on Friday, Jan. 25, 2013.
Randy was born Dec. 4, 1940, in Mullins, S.C., the second of 10 children born to the late Leman and Mary Fowler.
He graduated from Pine Forest High School in 1959. He began his insurance career with Southern Life Insurance and progressed to his own agency with State Farm where he dedicated the past 45 years.
He is survived by his children, Sabrina Ross and husband Dan, Kim Bledsoe and husband Kenny "Stump," Shannon Russell and husband Dave and Jason Fowler and wife Eve. From these children he was blessed with eight grandchildren, Lauren and Daniel Ross, Natalie and Hunter Bledsoe, Elle and Grant Russell, and Aden and Garrett Fowler. He is survived by his loving partner of 18 years, Brenda Waltz; his siblings, Sherry Spurlock, Teresa Cobb, Rhonda Plummer, Elaine Gerald and Jerry Fowler.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by siblings, Harold, Harry and Joey Fowler and Patsy Bacon.
Randy's passion for life was working on his farm and riding horses. He could often be found riding his tractor. He enjoyed weekends at Sunset Harbor with his children and grandchildren. He was an active member of the Hope Mills Legion Booster Club and as a young boy earned the distinguished rank of Eagle Scout
