Rebecca Matthews

Rebecca “Becky” Dean Matthews, 59 of Fayetteville, passed away on February 24, 2023.

Born in Cumberland County, Becky is the daughter of Edna Grice Dean and the late Kenneth W. Dean.

She is survived by her husband, James Edward Matthews, Jr.; son, James Dean “Jamie” Matthews and wife Jessica. Grandson, James Dean “J.D.” Matthews, II, who will always be known as "Bubba" to his Nana; mother, Edna Grice Dean; sister, Susan Matarese and husband Ronnie; niece, Katelyn Connell and husband Alex; nephew, Anthony Matarese; and loved by many other family and friends.

Becky loved cooking and baking. She enjoyed spending time with her family and was the best “Nana” ever. Becky will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
