Robert Rex

Robert William Rex, 77 of Fayetteville, passed away Friday, July 8, 2022 at the Fayetteville VA Medical Center.

Born December 19, 1944 in New York, Robert was the son of the late Robert and Catherine Rex. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Carol Ann Rex; son, Robert Rex; grandson, Jonathan Grimes; and brother, Donald Rex.

He is survived by his children, Joanne Gonzalez, Kathy Rose, and Dominic Rex; grandchildren, Michael Rex, Jessica Rose, Brittany Rose, and Essence Figueroa; great grandchildren, Michael Rex, Jr., Rhianna Rex, and Carsen DeJohn; and a host of other family and friends.

Robert completed over 20 years in the military before retiring in 1982 as a staff sergeant with the U.S. Army. Serving diligently during his career, he was a veteran of the Vietnam War and a recipient of numerous medals and awards including the Bronze Star and Purple Heart.

Robert was a loving father, grandfather, great grandfather, and friend who will be greatly missed by everyone who knew and loved him.
