Rose Harris

Mrs. Rose Elaine Harris, 74, of Hope Mills, passed away Wednesday, February 8, 2017 at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center.

Born in Cumberland County, she was the daughter of Percy Simmons, Sr. and Eva Mae Higgins Simmons. She is preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Percy Simmons, Jr.

She is survived by her husband, Owen Harris of the home; 3 daughters, Kim Britt, Kathy Adams & husband Ronnie, Lisa McDonald & husband Brian, all of Hope Mills; a son, Hank Harris & wife Lisa of Hope Mills; a sister, Sue Simmons & husband James Peterson of Canton, NC; 9 grandchildren: Josh Britt, Aaron Britt, Jessica Scott, Lou Adams, Amber Harris, Christopher Harris, Brittany Harris, Brianna Harris, Garrett McDonald; 6 great grandchildren, Hunner Britt, Tony Grice, Aubrey Adams, Lizzy Grice, Taylor Grice, Hudson Britt; and a life- long friend Brenda Bullard & husband Dave Wollen of Asheville, NC.

Mrs. Harris was one of the first female fire fighters of Cumberland County. She enjoyed fishing and spending time with her family. She will be missed by all who loved and knew her.
