Roy Lewis

Retired Air Force MSGT Roy "Soapy" Lewis, 67, of Fayetteville, died Saturday, June 21, 2014.

Mr. Lewis was born June 14, 1947 to the late Welby and Marietta Lewis.

The family will receive friends from 12 to 1 p.m. Friday, June 27, 2014 at Pinecrest Funeral and Cremation Services in Hope Mills.

A graveside service will follow at 2 p.m. at Sandhills State Veterans Cemetery in Spring Lake.

He is survived by his sisters, Joan Cundiff and husband Mike, Patty Watkins and husband Jack, and Barbara Jordan and husband Mike; nieces and nephews, Michael Jordan, Christy Taylor, Josh Jordan, Lori Jordan, Bryan Saville, and Beth Allen; children, Michael Lewis and wife Laura, MSGT William "Butch" Lewis, Amanda Rink and husband Daniel, Tim Tedder and wife Gibbelle, Laura Griffin and husband Shawn, and Jennifer Brewster and husband Josh; and fiancé, Cindy Evans and her children, Amanda Gregory and husband Ryan, Austin Evans, and Aharon Evans.

Mr. Lewis was known admirably as "Poppa" to Ayden, Caleb, Bentlei, Victoria, Ethan, Evan, Timmy, William, Oliver, Noah, Mason, and Easton.
