Roy Eddie Sweat, Sr., 75 of Fayetteville, passed away Sunday, June 2, 2024.
Born July 26, 1948, in Dillon, SC, Roy was the son of the late Woodrow Sweatt and Gladys Jackson Sweatt. in addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his granddaughter, Michayla Sweatt-Cummings and brothers, Robert Sweatt and Lynn Sweatt.
He is survived by his wife, Frankie Sweatt; daughter, Tammy Sue Sweatt; son, Roy Sweatt, Jr,; stepson, Bobby Oakey; brothers, Thomas Sweatt and Steve Sweatt; sister, Deanna Gay Harris; five grandchildren, Brittany, Michael, William, Christopher, and Tamara; three great grandchildren, Giovanni, Noah, and Ian; beloved dogs, Bailee and Penny; several nieces and nephews; and a host of other family and friends.
Roy worked as a carpet installation technician for several years and in his spare time, enjoyed tinkering with his 1955 Chevy Bel Air or spending time with his family and friends.
Roy was a dedicated husband, father, brother, grandfather, great grandfather, uncle, and friend who will be greatly missed and forever cherished by everyone who knew and loved him.
