Shelby Jean Crabtree, 83 of Fayetteville, passed away Wednesday, October 12, 2022 at Morning Star Special Care Center in Eastover.
Born April 16, 1939 in Hope Mills, Jean was the daughter of the late John Wesley Collier, Sr. and Louise Faulkner Collier. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Harlan Clifton Crabtree; son, Ronald David Crabtree; and brother, John Wesley "Tony" Collier, Jr.
Jean is survived by her daughter, Debra Crabtree Sherrill and her husband Steve of Eastover; son, Bryan Eugene Crabtree and his wife Pamela of Eastover; grandchildren, Lauren Reites and husband Steven of Vander, Brittany Berrier and husband Jon of Benson, Megghan Tate and husband Jordan of Fayetteville, Gabriele Sherrill of Fayetteville, Isaac Crabtree of Eastover, Melissa Burgess and husband Bob of Elizabeth City, Amber Moquin of Thomasville, Jessie Pinnix and husband Jacob of Climax, and Sarah Crabtree of Thomasville; and great grandchildren, Evan, Cameron, Emma, Aaron, Liam, Isla, Lexington, Sumerlin, Oliver, Walker, Tyler, Christopher, Sydney, Evan, Alexis, and Dalton.
Jean was a lifelong member of Fayetteville Community Church. She was a dedicated prayer warrior who enjoyed singing in the church choir and serving on the church custodial staff.
She loved chocolate, coffee, and pizza, but most of all, she loved spending time with her family and friends.
Jean was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend who will be greatly missed by everyone who knew and loved her.
The family will receive friends from 12 to 1 pm Saturday, October 29, 2022 at Fayetteville Community Church. A private family service will be held at Butler Family Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to Fayetteville Community Church, 2010 Middle River Loop, Fayetteville, NC 28312.
