Shirley Margaret Battle

Shirley Margaret Battle, 85 of Stedman, NC, passed away on Monday, July 3, 2023 in her home with family by her side.

Born June 8, 1938 in Bladen County, NC, Shirley was the daughter of the late Roland and Suzie Davis. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, William Henry Battle, Sr. and siblings, Homer Davis, Ruby McMillan, and Lloyd Davis.

She is survived by her daughter, Donna Hannon and husband Ronald of Charleston, SC; son, William H. Battle, Jr. of Eastover, NC; daughter, Connie Brown and husband Joel of Rutherfordton, NC; daughter, Tammy Haynie and husband Stanley of Patterson, GA; daughter, Deborah Harrelson and husband Dave of Dothan, AL; daughter, Shirley Dietrich and husband John of Stedman, NC; sister, Betty Hinson of Hope Mills, NC; 11 grandchildren, Nikki, Natasha, April, Heather, Christopher, Christina, Tiffany, Kyra, Ian, Scotty, and Billy; 16 great grandchildren; 2 great-great grandsons; and a host of other family and friends.

Shirley was employed with FASCO in Fayetteville for several years. In her spare time she loved to travel, visit casinos, and spend time with her family and friends. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend who will be deeply missed by everyone who knew and loved her.
