Shirley Hilburn

Shirley Ann Wright Hilburn, age 87, passed away Friday, April 22, 2022, at home surrounded by her family.

Born in Columbus County, she is the daughter of the late George W. and Margaret Ward Wright. She is also preceded in death by her husband, Al Hilburn; brother, Donald Wright, and a son, Rick Hilburn.

She is survived by her brother, Roger Wright, and her son, Craig Hilburn, and a host of other family members and friends.

Shirley loved cooking for her family. She enjoyed cooking and baking at the holidays; especially Easter, Thanksgiving, and Christmas, as she cooked a lot during those times. She loved taking walks and shopping especially for shoes. She always obeyed God and put Him first in everything she did. She taught a Women's Sunday School Class for several years. She always did the right thing in her work, her home, and her family. The Bible was her guide. She was always full of compassion and love for others, and would go above and beyond to help someone. She was a special soul that saw the best in everyone. She will be missed by all who loved and knew her.
