Veronica Collins

Veronica Janice Collins went home to be with the Lord on January 21st, 2021.

Born March 20, 1945 to Simon and Katherine Kertulis, Veronica is survived by her four children, eight grandchildren and one great grandson: Andrew Kelly; Victoria Kelly Woods and her sons Joshua Ramirez and Jonathan Ramirez; Aaron Kelly and his wife Jessica Moore Kelly and their children, Cooper, Millice, and Charlotte; and Vanessa Patton Durden and her husband Danny Durden and their children Danny Durden, Jr. and his son Ayden Dewitt, Michael McFayden, and Joshua Durden.  Veronica is also survived by 5 of her 6 siblings and their families.

Veronica was a wonderful cook and a meticulous housekeeper who single handedly raised all four of her children. Mom was her favorite title, second only to Grandma. Veronica’s children were always well-fed and well-clothed, more so than many families with two parents. She was creative and very artistic and although she never had the confidence to sell her artsy creations, they would have been in high demand.  For those who knew her, we know that her life’s biggest pride was the success and blessing of her four children. Having just met Veronica, you would not have to talk to her long before she would smile and tell you about her grandbabies too!

Veronica lived a life that many would have buckled under. She was stronger than some give her credit for and she was loved more than she knew.

In the months before her sunset, Veronica confessed that she knew and loved Jesus. She truly accepted Him into her heart and is at this moment experiencing a joy unspeakable and a love unimaginable in a place called paradise. Free from pain, no longer suffering and waiting for us all to join her one sweet day!
