Vivian Frances Cain McNeill, 85, of Gray's Creek went home to be with her Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ, early Friday morning, September 7, 2012. She passed peacefully at home in her sleep.
Vivian was the daughter of Thomas Grover and Pauline Cain. She was a beloved wife, mother, "Granny", great grandmother and sister. She was married to her husband, Clifton, for 64 years. Together, they raised three children on the family farm where she loved reading, birdwatching and gardening.
As a member of Green Springs Baptist Church, Vivian served as a Sunday School teacher, a VBS leader and a GA leader. She was very active in the Women's Missionary Union, serving as Director for many years. She also served on the Robeson Association WMU Executive Council.
Vivian valued volunteering and community service. She was a member and past president of both the Fayetteville Women's Club and the Gray's Creek Women's Club. She also was a Cub Scout den mother.
Vivian is survived by her husband, Clifton; three children: Clifton, Jr. (Barbara), Kathy (Dan), and Donna (Michael); eight grandchildren: Cliff III, Jan (Adam), Allison (Jeff), Katy (Kevin), Caroline (Chad), Matt, Laura (Matthew), and Chelsea; and seven great grandchildren: Autumn, Reva, Calan, Danielle, Cameron, Caroline and Aidan.
Funeral services will be Monday, September 10, 2012 at 11:00 AM at Green Springs Baptist Church with interment in McNeill Family Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday, September 9, 2012 from 6-8 PM at Pinecrest Funeral and Cremation Services in Hope Mills.
