William Groves

William C. Groves 78 was born on July 2, 1932 and went to be with the Lord on November 23, 2010 while in his home with his family.

William is survived by his loving wife, Mary Agnes Groves, four daughters, Wanda Wilson and husband Jimmy, Vickie Cooper and husband Robert all of St. Pauls, Ellon Cook and husband Ricky of Hope Mills, Laurie Johnson and husband Danny of Clinton and one son, Ken Groves of Hope Mills. 15 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren; four sisters, Mary Pineda of South Carolina, Odell Goodman, Ruth Nunnery and Alice Bain of Fayetteville; one brother, Bevil Lee Groves of Fayetteville. William is preceded in death by his grandmother, Clara Bell, parents, Beatrice and Will Groves; sisters, Beatrice Van Dam, Frankie Lopez and Iula Groves; brother, Buddy Groves; son, William Mitchell Groves and grandson, Richard Randall Cook.

William was the owner and operator of Custom Upholstery; working on boats, cars, trucks and furniture, but his favorite was restoring custom vehicles. If you were not able to find him in his shop, you could find him on the lake with his pole, fishing and cooking a pig for a host of family and friends.
