Woodrow Sweat

Woodrow Sweat, 87, of Fayetteville, went home to be with his Lord on Thursday, Aug. 8, 2013.
Born in Dillon, S.C., he was the son of Cleve and Maggielean Sweat. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Gladys Sweat; sons, Robert W. Sweat Sr. and Edgar Lynn Sweat; parents; and two great-granddaughters.
He is survived by daughter, Deanna Gay Sweat; sons, Eddie and wife Frankie, Tommy, Steve and wife Cathy; daughter-in-law, Betty Sweat; 10 grandchildren; Robert W. Sweat Jr. & wife Clarissa, Bobby Oakley, Tabitha Boahn & husband Ricky, Tammy Sweat, Christy Sweat, Heather Beres & husband Ryan, Jennifer Underwood & husband Tommy, Jamie VanRassen & husband David, James Grimsley III, Roy Sweatt and 18 great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 11, 2013, at Community Chapel Church, with the Rev. Bobby Bunnells and the Rev. Frank Dulzer officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 tonight, Saturday, Aug. 10, 2013, at Pinecrest Funeral & Cremation Services in Hope Mills.
